11 Whalesong – Dream It
The Burrum Heads Community Markets will hold a series of hands-on workshops aiming to collect ideas to inspire the building of large-scale public instruments made from recycled materials.

Workshop participants will be invited to explore the possibilities of recycled materials, with opportunities to draw and make models, as well as create a take-home instrument.

15 Woody Island Trip
Cruise the Great Sandy Strait to hear about the local history. Learn about the impact of weeds, erosion and rubbish on native flora and fauna. Assist in the monitoring and sustainability of healthy habitats.

Tasks: Weeding around the historical lighthouse or rubbish collection There are NO facilities or water on Woody Island. Please bring plenty of water. The area is not suitable for swimming.

Please everyone meet at the Gas Shed no later than 2pm to board the boat for the return trip. Remember the trip may be postponed because of unsuitable weather.

26 Fraser Coast Outriggers Bay Business Challenge
Looking for a FUN DAY OUT with friends, family and staff?

Head down to the Fraser Coast Outriggers Bay Buisiness Challenge to wittness businesses, corporate bodies and clubs who organise teams of 5 to race against each other. Steerer and paddles provided.

There will be prizes, raffles breakfast, lunch, good coffee and bar open from 10am. There will also be a fancy dress prize – so get creative!

28 A talk on South American orchids by Corina
The Orchid House was established in 2000 to commemorate the Centenary of Federation. The collection contains 20,000 orchids donated by local residents and includes 85 different orchid genera and accompanying indoor plants.

1-2 Fraser Coast Music Fest
A full weekend of music and dance!

Saturday 9 am – 4pm dance groups from Fraser Coast will be on display at Scarness Park.

Sunday 9 am – 8.30 pm there will be a huge variety of bands, duos and solos on two stages.

Sunday Only – Seafront Oval and Whale Tale stalls, car display, rides and activities for kids and a bar.

11 Hervey Bay Seafood Festival 2013
A unique and ultimate seafood escape for a weekend on the wild side of seafood for every occasion captured in a breathtaking array of seafood dishes headlined by the world famous Hervey Bay scallop, along with a variety of prawns, whiting, calamari, bug and crab dishes.
